San Juan Rapids Trail (Fair Oaks)

From All Trails: This is a wonderful riverside loop. It can get rocky along many portions and part of this trail follows the paved River Drive, connecting to the American River Trail on the south side of the river. The Fair Oaks Recreation and Park District maintains this trail network.
Accessibility: Equipment Visitors using wheelchairs, mobility equipment, or strollers may need all-terrain tires or adaptive/motorized equipment for the surface type and grade. The most accessible portion of this route is the first .8 miles, which is paved.
Parking: There are 2 designated van-accessible spaces with striped access aisles in the paved parking lot off Bannister Drive at the trail's north end.
Surface: The trail surface is asphalt or rocky dirt and typically between 2 and 8 feet wide. A painted dividing line along the paved portion of the trail temporarily reduces the tread width.
Grade: This trail is estimated to be mostly gentle (5% or less), with some moderately steep (5-8%) sections that may require assistance or need to be avoided.
Public restrooms are available near the trailhead.
I will post what I am wearing, what I look like, and where I am standing once I arrive so there is no confusion. I will be starting the walk exactly at 9:30am so please arrive around 9:15 to 9:20am to ensure you can find parking and are part of the pack. I do not know if there are off leash portions of this trail but my guy always stays on leash so please use your best judgement. It is a 3 mile loop with a small elevation gain of 111 feet and should take 1 to 1.5 hours depending on speed. As always, RSVP for the number of dogs you are bringing. You and 1 dog=just you, you +2 dogs = +1. If you are bringing extra people, no need to RSVP for them. Main concern is the pack size.
