Discover this 4.2-mile out-and-back trail near Rio Linda, California. Generally considered an easy route, it takes an average of 1 h 14 min to complete. This is a popular trail for running and walking, but you can still enjoy some solitude during quieter times of day. The best times to visit this trail are January through November. Dogs are welcome, but must be on a leash.
I am choosing a flat trail since Wallace is not allowed to do moderate or rigorous hikes at the moment. This trail also has a designated wildflower area so I'm hoping we'll be able to see the bloom, but it does mean dogs have to be on leash for the entire trail, just as a heads up. If there is rain close to the date and/or it will be muddy, I will reschedule the hike. Hopefully it's far enough out time wise that we avoid the watery stuff. :) If you do not have a pup but simply want to join us for the walk, please feel free to join. You do not have to RSVP if you're coming without a dog.
What to bring: Sturdy hiking boots/shoes, leash, water, hat, sunscreen, poop bags, snacks for you and your dog if you'd like, layered clothing.
RSVP based on the number of dogs. If you have 1 dog, its just you = 0. If you have 2 dogs, its you and 1 guest = +1.
If you need to change your RSVP from yes to no, please do so as soon as possible to allow others to attend (try to prevent last minute changes as that affects the whole group).
Reminders: Bring poop bags and pick up after your dog. Stay with the group unless otherwise arranged with the hike leader. If your dog is unfriendly to other dogs or people you will need to leash up for everyone's safety.
