Labor Day: 4 Miles at McKeldin, Bring $3 per person in cash for entrance fee

McKeldin Switchback Trail

Meet at far parking lot that is near the rapids. After paying at the entrance, bear right. Continue bearing right for about a half mile. Then go straight until the very end.

This expedition is rated moderate. Expect muddy trails with roots, rocks and aggressive, territorial chipmunks. This is not an even path. There is a charge of 2 or 3 dollars. Bathrooms are available.

This hike has a lot of river views and access to the McKeldin rapids, one of the best in the area.
