Lorrimar to Glencairn Castle & Pennypack ERT

3.5-4 hours hiking, 9-11 miles, brisk pace, some hills, a few steep, add time to explore grounds of Glencairn Castle & Cathedral, mostly park trails, a few miles of real nice rails to trails, about less than 1 mile of small streets.

From Lorimar Park we will head along the rails-to-trails which is right along Pennypack Creek towards Glencairn Castle. Often we will be able to find some hidden very scenic trails that go right along the Pennypack.

At Glencairn, which is a world class castle as nice as anything you can find in Europe, will we explore the grounds which are totally incredible anytime, but even more so when the gardens are in place.
Afterwards we take a small loop around Pennypack ERT which has beautiful meadows and an idealac horse farm with a pond and swans.

The Castle and Cathedral are 2 of the most incredible buildings in the Philadelphia Area. The Castle, once a residence, now is an antiquities museum which makes the Cloisters in NYC look 2nd rate.

To carpool from Hill House (201 W Evergreen Ave, Phila) meet 45 minutes before the event. Carpool time changes if hike time changes. Text me (215 2474459) 3-4 days in advance.
