About us

## Welcome to Hiking Crew – Zürich!

We're a community of people who enjoy exploring the beautiful mountains, lakes, and trails around Switzerland together. Our goal is simple: to create memorable hiking experiences in a friendly, respectful, and relaxed atmosphere.
We believe that the best hikes happen in small groups, where everyone has the opportunity to get to know each other and nobody gets left behind. For this reason, most of our events are limited to 15 - 20 participants.

## Our Community

We value:

  • Respect and kindness
  • Reliability and punctuality
  • Team spirit and consideration for others
  • A positive attitude and enjoyment of nature
  • Looking after one another during our hikes

## Membership

To keep our community active and enjoyable, we intentionally manage the size of the group.

  • Membership is limited to a maximum number of 200 members.
  • New members are accepted only when places become available.
  • Members who remain inactive for an extended period (currently around 150 days) may be removed to make room for new active hikers.
  • Removed members are always welcome to apply again in the future.

Our goal is not to exclude people, but to ensure that active members have a fair chance to participate in our events.

## Event Participation

Because places are limited, we ask everyone to:

  • Join only if you genuinely plan to attend.
  • Cancel as early as possible if your plans change.
  • Respect the waiting list so that other members have an opportunity to join.

Repeated late cancellations or no-shows may affect future participation.

## Before Joining

Please take a moment to answer the membership questions thoughtfully. They help us understand your motivation and ensure that everyone joining shares the spirit of our community.

## Important Disclaimer

Our hikes are not professionally or guided tours.
By participating, you acknowledge that:

  • You join entirely at your own risk and responsibility.
  • You are responsible for deciding whether a hike is appropriate for your physical fitness, hiking experience, technical ability, health, and equipment.
  • You are responsible for bringing suitable clothing, footwear, food, water, and any other equipment required for the planned hike and the expected weather conditions.
  • Weather, trail conditions, and mountain environments can change quickly. Every participant is responsible for making safe decisions throughout the hike.
  • The organizers and other participants cannot accept liability for accidents, injuries, loss, death, or damage.

## Let's Explore Together!
