You must be experienced,in good physical condition, and doing regular aerobic exercise and/or climbing mountains on a regular basis to participate.

Poke o Moonshine is located in the Taylor Pond Wild Forest off Rte 9 between Exit 32 and Exit 33 of the Northway. There are 2 trails to the summit, we will be taking the Observers trail (NOT THE RANGER TRAIL)which is 5+-miles RT , 1411’ gain, summit elevation 2180’. Views from summit of Whiteface, Lake Champlain, Green Mountains, etc. Wear appropriate non cotton hiking gear, and bring Microspikes .Also Bring energy snacks, water/electrolytes 2-3 liters. Late lunch early dinner after at Flanigans in Schroon Lake for those interested. Meet north way Exit 9 Fire road park and ride 645am to carpool. Brief Pitstop at Northway Exit 25 Stewart’s on the way to trailhead. Should arrive at trail head 915 to 9:45 AM.
