Goodnow fire tower is located in the Adirondacks in Newcomb. This is a 4 to 4 1/2 mile out and back hike with 1100 feet of elevation gain in a summit elevation of 2700+ or minus feet. . Wear appropriate winter hiking gear and boots. Bring snow shoes, micro spikes, hydration, snacks, and lunch. No dogs, please. Meet at exit 9 Northway Fire Rd. Park and Ride to carpool at 730AM. We will make a brief stop at the Northway exit 25 Stewart’s. If you just want to bring a light lunch, we can stop at the Black Bear Pottersville for food on the way home. This is not for beginners and you should be an excellent physical condition doing regular aerobic exercise in order to participate. Please have emergency contact name and phone number on an index card in the outer pocket of your pack.
