Wolf Pond is located off Blue Ridge Rd. in the Vanderwacker Mountain Wild Forest near Newcomb. This is a 5.3 mile round-trip out and back hike/snowshoe with generally rolling topography. 410’ elevation gain.At the pond, there are views of the high peaks, and a lean to. Dress in non-cotton layers for winter weather, and bring snow shoes and micro spikes. If snowshoes are needed you must be proficient/experienced using them.Also bring snacks ,hydration, carpool $. Have your name and an emergency contact person name and phone number on a card in your pocket or outer pocket of your pack. Meet Northway exit 9 Fire Rd. park-and-ride at 6:30 AM to carpool .Brief Pitstop at Northway exit 25 Stewart’s on the way to the trailhead. We can stop for a late lunch /early dinner in the Schroon Lake /Pottersville area after the hike for those interested.
