Potato Mountain via Claremont Hills Loop (level 2,2+)

There are two options for this hike
1. Hike to Potato Mountain and back (Level 2+)
2. Hike the Claremont Hills Loop (Level 2)
We will start the hike from Claremont Hills Wilderness Park. Take the counterclockwise loop, starting the Cobal Canyon trail to the right for 1.6 mile. For Potato Mountain hike, turn right to Palmer Evey Trail for 2 miles, turn right to the Potato Mountain Trail for 1 mile to reach to the top of Potato Mountain. As a tradition, you can leave a potato there. After enjoying the view, return the same way back to Claremont Wilderness Park parking lot.
For those doing the Claremont Hills Loop, continue on Cobal Canyon Trail after the Potato Mountain turn off then take a break at the lookout picnic area. Continue on Cobal Canyon Trail, then Johnson Pasture Trail, Burbank Trail, and return to the parking lot.
Claremont Hills Loop (level 2)
Distance - 5 miles
Elevation gain - 850 feet
Potato Mountain (Level 2+)
Distance - 9 miles
Elevation gain - 2000 feet

Claremont Wilderness Park charges a parking fee:

6 hours - $6
