Snowdrops To The Sea Circular

A most beautiful circular route. Starting at Heron Corn Mill (good parking all day for £2... honesty box) we will meander gently up through swathes of snowdrops to the 'Fairy Steps' where if you are able to pass without touching the sides the Fairy's will grant you a wish. Down to Arnside Tower, then a short climb up Arnside Knott for wonderful views of Morecambe Bay. Decending we pass through the pretty caravan site of Far Arnside then proceed along quiet paths at the edge of the coastline with a feeling of the Amalfi coast (if the sun shows its face). We will then decend to the sands (subject to the tide ) , pass Blackstone Point and make our way up the estuary to Arnside. Continuing on over the railway we will follow the old railway line to Storth, through Cockshot woods (where red squirrels still live), then decend to the Deer Park where we should see the deer and back through a grove of mature trees to the cars... Having walked most of the UK this is my favourite walk, an eclectic mix of everything that is most beautiful ..... a classic stroll in the countryside .... with the sea and sands thrown in...
