What we’re about
This group is to organise hiking daytrips from Geneva with a historical theme. I'm basing these on suggestions found in a local historical publication called Passé Simple. The hikes are meant to be reachable via public transport (Geneva train station) and of easy to medium difficulty (2 to 5 hours).
I'm not a professional guide, just an enthusiast :)

See all- Hike to La Chaux-de-Fonds and MIH VisitNeeds location
Hello!
Let’s meet this Sunday to escape the heat and hike from Les Hauts-Geneveys to La Chaux-de-Fonds and visit the Musée International de l’Horlogerie.Let’s meet at the Les Hauts-Geneveys station at 10:30. I’ll be on the Geneva train leaving Geneva at 08:24, travelling via Renens and Neuchatel, if you are travelling the same way and wish to join me earlier. This hike will start with a climb towards the Tete de Ran and Vue des Alpes. It’s not too long but is still steep, look at the Komoot link below for details.
After enjoying the view we will walk down the other side of the mountain towards La Chaux-de-Fonds, where after the hike we can visit the MIH. No obligation to do so if you only wish to do the hike, but it does look promising! More info on this museum and its current offerings on https://www.mih.ch
The hike should be around 4 hours, and counting 1h for breaks and 1h for the visit, we should be done around 4:30 or 5.
As usual please come prepared for changes in weather and with water, snacks, etc. The weather can be uncertain, so plan for both the possibility of a little rain, as well as being equipped for the heat (plenty of drinks, hat, sunscreen). I am not a professional guide and decline responsibility for any incident.
