Hike around Soleure
Details
Hello,
Let’s meet Sunday 17th for a hike around the city of Soleure!
Soleure/Solothurn is famous for its Baroque era architecture and should be a particularly interesting place to visit. The hike first takes us along the Aare river, then to the castle Waldegg where we can have a walk in the extensive gardens. We then proceed to North of the town to a wooded area and the Einsiedelei, a church and set of religious building in a small canyon next to a stream. And then towards to town itself, stopping at the Blumenstein museum of history before strolling through Soleure itself.
You can find out more on these on:

Let’s meet at Soleure train station at 12. Note that Soleure is German speaking and the name is Solothurn in that language. I’ll be leaving from the Geneva station on the 10:05 arriving at 11:59 via Renens, if you want to join me before. The hike is about 2 and a half hours but there’s quite a lot to see, so I think we’ll be finished around 5.
As usual please come prepared for changes in weather anyway and with water, snacks, etc,. The hike will go ahead if we’re at least 5 participants, I might save it for another occasion if there are not many takers this time. Please use the chat function on the event page for on-the-day updates and if you need to get in touch.
I am not a professional guide and decline responsibility for any incident.
