Tim Burton directed this 1999 gothic thriller, from a Kevin Yagher story and Andrew Kevin Walker script based on Washington Irving's famous 1820 story. (Yagher was originally to direct, but had to settle for designing the prosthetic makeup!) Depp based his performance on Basil Rathbone, Roddy McDowall and Angela Lansbury. The cast includes Christina Ricci and horror veteran Christopher Lee. Rick Heinrichs and Peter Young's production design won an Oscar.
