Kayaking Trip - Everyone Welcome - Summer Solstice Celebration Paddle
June 21 is the solstice, the longest day of the year. Join Hoboken Cove Community Boathouse, along with other communities across the country for a Summer Solstice Celebration, by paddling on the solstice. Not in Hoboken? Find other solstice paddles on American Canoe Association's website.
Everyone is welcome! Please RSVP here to reserve a spot. If you have not volunteered with us before and come to one of our trainings, you you'll paddle a sit on top kayak. If you are a volunteer helping with our trip, please register at the volunteer meetup event.
It will be a workout!
No experience necessary. However, it will be tough! Trip leaders will run a short paddle test before leaving the cove to ensure everyone is comfortable and safe in their kayak. All participants must be at least 18 years of age and must have some minimal swimming ability.
Time and distance:
Typically 2 miles, 1-2 hours long. Where and how far will depend on tides, weather condition, and group speed.
What to bring:
- reusable bottle with water.
- quick drying clothes
- hat
- sunscreen
- change of clothes (you will get wet!)
If you register but cannot attend, please RSVP no before the event. No-shows prevent other people from coming, so please update us if you cannot attend.
We have a limited number of single kayaks, so if you register as a single participant you may be placed with another person in a double kayak.
If you are coming with another person, please indicate you have a guest when registering so that we can assign you a boat.
