Volunteer Workout SUP & Kayak Training - Advanced

Current and new volunteers, join us for a workout paddle!
We'll start with drills, technique work, and warm up time trial laps. Then we will take a short trip to pier A and back to practice endurance.
Please be mindful of others and arrive on time. Check the cut off time to arrive under the timeline. Let's get ready quickly to maximize our time on the water!
It’s hot out- bring lots of water, a hat, and sunscreen! Also bring non cotton clothing and a change of clothes.
PREREQUISITES TO RSVP
- Volunteered at least once for an embayment shift in 2025 OR volunteered at the Hudson River Cup 2025
- Have time trialed your craft in less than 17 minutes a mile (advanced)
- Can self rescue within 2 minutes
- Feel comfortable launching independently and paddling at ~4kts for 30 minutes
COME PREPARED
- Quick drying clothes
- Towel
- Change of clothes
- Sunscreen, hat
- Water in a reusable bottle
TIMELINE
6:00 PM - Meet at HCCB. Prepare equipment.
6:15 PM - Cut off time to arrive
6:30 PM - Practice in the cove
7:00 PM - begin short trip
7:30 PM - turn around
7:45 PM - arrive back to cove
8:00 PM - Return to boathouse
8:15 PM - Clean and put away equipment
8:30 PM - Training ends
