HCCB is pleased to launch a new educational initiative!
Our Talk Story series will feature talks with like-minded water people who will share their unique water-related perspective and passions with us.

We are excited to have Eddie Knibloe from Buffalo Maritime Center (BMC) as our first online speaker to talk about his experience building a wooden canoe named Wood Chuck Chuck and racing it on the 3-day/90-mile Adirondack Canoe Classic. This race includes portages, pit crews and careful preparation in some of the most beautiful and rugged areas of Upstate New York.

Eddie is the Exhibits and Collection Manager at the BMC. In addition to taking care of their collection, objects and planning for exhibits, he also leads on-the-water programming as a sailor and an ACA-certified paddling instructor. He organized the exhibit "Water and Wood: Canoes in New York State" currently on view at the BMC in Buffalo, NY.

The Buffalo Maritime Center seeks to to inspire meaningful connections and life lessons through community boatbuilding, preserving maritime culture and exploring the waterways of Western New York.
