We'll paddle around our cove and possibly move into the cove next to us. Maybe we'll practice strokes and some drills, or just hang out on the water.
Please be mindful of others and arrive on time. Check the cut off time to arrive under the timeline. Let's get ready quickly to maximize our time on the water.
Water temp is still chilly. Wet/dry suits are highly encouraged but not required. Wear non cotton clothing and bring a change of clothes.
If you plan to do any rescue training or your first wet exit, then you must have cold water clothing.
PREREQUISITES TO RSVP
- Volunteered at least once for a 2025 or 2026 embayment shift or the 2025 HRC
OR - You attended an "intro" session with us and promise to help us for at least 2 embayment shifts in 2026

6:00 PM - Meet at HCCB. Prepare equipment. Safety briefing
6:20 PM - Cut off time to arrive
6:30 PM - Move boats to beach
6:45 PM - Practice in the cove
7:45 PM - Return to boathouse
8:00 PM - Clean and put away equipment
8:45 PM -Training ends

HCCB is completely volunteer run. Our guides generously take time out of their busy schedules to run trips and trainings. Here are our guidelines about cancelations and no-shows:
* For a trip, please cancel prior to 8:00 PM the day before *the trip.
* For a training, please cancel at least 6 hours *before the training. If you do not cancel before the cancelation cutoff time, you will be marked as a no-show. Hosts reserve the right to deprioritize you on waitlists after the second no-show of the year.
