About us
This is an informal group for people who love films and filmmaking as a creative act. Making money out of your filmmaking is allowed (and very much encouraged) but this is specifically for people who are motivated, skilled, or curious about filmmaking and who prefer collaboration and artistic endeavour over hustling and deal-making.
If you are used to (or interested in) working with limited resources and no budget, shooting footage piecemeal on evenings and weekends, tearing your hair out trying to edit your films during a coffee break at work, or writing screenplays whenever the kids fall asleep, then this is the group for you!
No experience is necessary, and all branches of filmmaking are welcome. The focus is on chatting about projects you are working on or want to get off the ground, discussing movies you liked/loved/hated, giving and receiving constructive feedback, sharing skills and anecdotes about the agony and ecstasy of zero budget filmmaking, and getting to know potential collaborators in your community.
Feel free to bring along half-finished scripts, storyboards, rough cuts, a showreel, an active project, samples of finished work, or even just bags of enthusiasm or curiosity.
