Learning the Art of Minimalism through B&W Street Photography

Details

Minimalism is indeed the art of less. Minimalists in art/photography focus on a few essential elements of life and cast unnecessary things aside. In the process the pictures turn out simple but impressive, depending deeply on your viewpoint and emotional appeal of the image. And Black and White works very well in this context.

So let’s meet to learn how by creating ‘empty’ spaces in a photograph you can actually accentuate the subject that you do include in your picture.

Meeting Place and Time:
In front of Clock Tower at TST Star Ferry , 4.30pm

We will meet in front of the Clock Tower at TST Star Ferry, 4:30pm,move around in groups of three members taking pictures, then regroup for a drink, socialising and photo sharing 6pm onwards at Delaney’s (Basement, Mary Building, 71- 77 Peking Road, TST, this Irish pub is located just opposite the landmark building Chungking Mansions).

Please sign up only if you are coming, those not showing up 2x in a row would be taken off the group list while active members would be given a preference over long inactive members, the last minute habitual dropouts and no-shows.

Post YOUR BEST FIVE IMAGES only after the outing on the meetup site on this event's page.

FINALLY: For every image you post, please comment on at least oneother image, no matter if you think you are qualified to comment or not. You can always give some constructive comments with regard to Colour, Tone, Light, Action, Pattern, Balance, Composition, Visual and Emotional appeal of the image/s. This group is about sharing and learning from each other.
