2017 Hong Kong Volunteers Milestone Review
December 28, 2017
With another record setting year, 2017 proved to be a phenomenal year for the Hong Kong Volunteers. This year saw the intake levels to record 8,800 members and about 600 events held, the Hong Kong Volunteers has experienced an increased growth with each year. This is all due from an increase to 12 assistant organizers. This made it possible to have an average of about 2 events per day throughout the year. We will do even more in the coming year, and the actions of all individuals involved have undoubtedly demonstrated the values and determination of the Hong Kong Volunteers when it comes to the concern they have for the local community.
Furthermore together with sister group Hong Kong Hiking Meetup, the Hong Kong Volunteers have helped in part raising about $3,000,000 for various charities through hiking and running races.

In the upcoming year, we plan to hold similar activities from the previous year. This includes but is not limited to educational playtime with young kids, tutorial with primary school students, as well as new mainland immigrant youths, food kitchen for the homeless, elderly home visits, fundraising receptions for NGOs, art fair operations, AIDS care awareness road shows and motivational talks within ethnic minority schools.
Today, we can proudly say that we can accomplish this with a volunteer base almost 9,000 members who will continue to show their determination.
We look forward to more voluntary activities in 2018. We also extend our thanks to retiring several assistant organizers who have contributed their time and efforts in making Hong Kong Volunteers what it is today. Most of all, we'd like to thank all of you, our members, for your participation and help in spreading the volunteering spirit through the Hong Kong Volunteers which only brings successful reports from the organizations needing volunteers.
Happy New Year... See you in 2018
Yours faithfully,
The Leadership Team
