IANDS Oahu supports Near-Death Experiencers (NDE'rs), those who have had other Spiritually Transformative Experiences, their loved ones, and all interested others in a safe, non-judgmental environment. We are part of Hawaiian IANDS and an affiliated group of the International Association for Near-Death Studies. (IANDS)
IANDS Oahu's mission is to share the hope and wisdom of Near-Death Experiences (NDE's) and other Spiritually Transformative Experiences with each other and the local community, and to give others the gift of understanding that we continue to exist beyond death.

We offer a safe place for experiencers to come and tell their stories, as well as offer education about near-death experiences.
We host a variety of meetings with inspiring speakers, fascinating video screenings, intimate sharing groups, and discussions with experiencers.

A Near-Death Experience, mystical experience, Kundalini Awakening, After-Death Communication, or other Spiritually Transformative Experience can radically change how we see ourselves and the world.

Join Hawaiian IANDS for a special book launch with Dr. Yvonne Kason, MD, as she introduces her newest book, Roadmap to the Great Awakening: Purifying the Heart.
Dr. Kason believes humanity is currently experiencing a Great Spiritual Awakening, with increasing numbers of people around the world awakening through Near-Death Experiences (NDEs), Spiritually Transformative Experiences (STEs), and other profound spiritual experiences. Her new book offers a framework for understanding what may happen after we awakenāand how we can consciously continue our spiritual growth.
ā¤ļø The āPurifying the Heartā Roadmap
At the heart of the book is the āPurifying the Heartā roadmap, based upon teachings first presented by Swami Sri Yukteswar, guru of Paramahansa Yogananda.Drawing upon more than 40 years of research and counseling NDE and STE experiencers, as well as her own five Near-Death Experiences and numerous mystical experiences, Dr. Kason expands this framework into a practical guide to the long-term spiritual awakening journey.
The roadmap describes five progressive stages of spiritual development:
š Dark Heart ā Propelled Heart ā Steady Heart ā Devoted Heart ā Clean Heart āØThese stages describe a journey from being spiritually unawakened to becoming a Spiritual Seeker, Loving Server or Spiritual Warrior, Devotee, and ultimately an Adept experiencing deeper mystical consciousness.
During this special presentation, Dr. Kason will use her own NDEs and STEs to illustrate the key lessons, challenges, and opportunities at each stageāand discuss ways we can support our own spiritual progress.
š« The journey includes spiritual seeking, emotional healing, and self-reflection, followed by a growing commitment to one's spiritual path and a shift in focus from āmeā to āwe.ā Compassion, love, service to others, and living one's spiritual values increasingly become central to life.
š As the journey deepens into the Devoted Heart Stage, the emphasis moves increasingly toward surrender to Divine Will, forgiveness, detachment from ego desires, prayer, meditation, inner stillness, and discovering happiness within rather than through external circumstances.
š Dr. Kason also explores the often misunderstood Dark Night of the Soulāperiods of spiritual darkness, loss, or despair that can occur even after profound mystical experiences and may become part of deeper transformation.
Ultimately, Roadmap to the Great Awakening points toward Self-Realization, God-Communion, and expanded mystical consciousness as the deeper destination of the spiritual journey.
š About Dr. Yvonne Kason
Dr. Yvonne Kason, MD, MEd, CCFP, FCFP, is President and a Founder of Spiritual Awakenings International and a Past-President of the International Association for Near-Death Studies (IANDS).She coined the term āSpiritually Transformative Experiencesā (STEs) in 1994 and has personally experienced five Near-Death Experiences, as well as numerous other STEs.
š©ŗ A retired family physician and MD-psychotherapist formerly on the faculty of the University of Toronto, Dr. Kason became the first Canadian medical doctor to specialize her practice in researching and counseling people with diverse STEs. She has more than 40 years of experience in the field and is an internationally recognized expert on Near-Death Experiences, Kundalini Awakening, and Spiritually Transformative Experiences.
š She is the author of seven books, including Touched by the Light, Soul Lessons from the Light, and her newest, Roadmap to the Great Awakening: Purifying the Heart.
