Going to Loxwood Joust! It's a fun and happy day of, well, jousting, along with music, combat, crafts, displays, performance, food and drink (including mead!). Held annually in the summer, the day follows a tale in the Kingdom of Loxwood, and is a great experience.

From the website:

"Each summer, within the open-world realm of the Kingdom of Loxwood, a great celebration unfolds. The Loxwood Joust. It is a festival of spectacle, story, and participation, where music, laughter, and the clash of steel fill the air. Across three weekends, knights take to the arena, jesters tumble through the crowds, and souls of every kind gather to feast, forge, and revel together beneath the Sussex skies. Here, history is merely a suggestion as the world of Loxwood is one of its own making. Expect lively taverns, heroic tournaments, woodland wonders and moments of pure mischief around every turn. Whether you come to watch, to wander, or to join the tale yourself, the Loxwood Joust is where stories come alive."

There is a shuttle bus to and from Horsham, and tickets are £27 for an adult pass and £6 each way for the shuttle bus. You can purchase your tickets directly through the website, linked below.

While it is a medieval fair, costume isn't a requirement (I likely won't be in costume as I don't even have one), and most people going generally aren't in costume - though anyone who does want to dress up for it will definitely won't be the only one there to do so.

Being an outdoor event, the weather is, of course, a factor in the day, so do keep an eye on the what the magical weather foretelling portals are telling us as we get nearer the day, and pack accordingly.

I'll be getting the early shuttle bus out to it, and returning on the one after the event ends at 6pm. If anyone is still up for more as we go through Horsham, I'm sure we can consider some drinks in town, too!
