Road Trip: Beaumont to see Spindletop Gladys City, Fire Museum, & Edison Museum.

Beaumont, Texas has a few interesting locations, we'll be visiting 3 of them: Spindeltop Museum, Fire Museum, and Thomas Edison Museum.
PLEASE NOTE:
The Fire Museum and Edison Museum will open especially for us at the designated hours. They are usually closed on Saturdays. See the schedule below.
The event Fee covers your entry ticket to Spindletop Museum and donations to the Fire and Edison Museums. HoustonPhotowalks will make a cash donation to each museum we visit as part of our "Fund the Fun" commitment (see our FAQ for details).

Details
Start off by joining us for a group breakfast at Beaumont's all-you-can-eat breakfast establishment Golden Corral. Full details on their menu available here:

Next, we go to Spindletop Gladys City Boomtown. Situated on the campus of Lamar University, the museum is a reconstruction of Gladys City where oil was discovered in January of 1901, just after the hurricane that destroyed Galveston had passed through. Inside each historical building are various 1900's era artifacts.

The next stop is the Beaumont Fire Museum. This museum is usually closed on the weekend, but thanks to your donation to this event, they will open for us for about an hour (it's a small museum, that's plenty of time).

Our last stop before heading home is The Edison Museum. This is within walking distance from the Fire Museum. This museum is also closed on the weekends, but they will open for about an hour on Saturday with our donation. This is another small museum but has lots of interesting inventions and artifacts.
