The HoustonPhotowalks Facebook Group is an excellent space for photographers to connect, share ideas, ask questions, and showcase their photowalk photographs. However, the group is moderated to avoid spam/scams/NSFW posts. So if a photo is posted that's not from a photowalk, it usually doesn't get approved.

But sometimes, us photographers want to share a beautiful image that's not from a photowalk. So we occasionally host "Share Your Favorite Recent Photo" day on our Facebook Group!

Have a look in your recent photos, pick one that you are proud of, and be ready to post it on our Facebook Group.

This is your opportunity to share your favorite recent landscape, still life, architectural, special effects, or family photo. Whether it’s a stunning masterpiece or a candid moment of your favorite family members (yes, including pets), we’d love to see what you’ve been working on outside of HoustonPhotowalks!

Join us on January 11th for a day of sharing and celebrating the amazing art of photography.

Things to keep in mind:

  • Pick your one favorite image (there will be lots of posts, so we'll try not to flood)

  • Uploading/Posting a photo to a FB group is better than Sharing from your timeline. Otherwise, people who are not your FB Friends may not be able to see the image.

  • Still life, landscape, travel, special effects, street photography, pets, family photos, etc.

  • Note to our portrait, boudoir, and model photographers: your best judgment will be on display. No NSFW posts, please.

My Event Photo: While photographing some property for a client on Lake Travis, I floated up on this abandoned sailing vessel. It was a hauntingly beautiful scene that tells its own story. It made me wonder who enjoyed the boat, how old it was, and if it could ever be recovered and made sea-worthy again. Since this photograph wasn't taken at an HPW event, I couldn't share it with the HoustonPhotowalks community except during our "Post your Favorite Recent Photo" event!
