Photowalk: Art Car Parade - Is it Real or A.I.?

Can you create realistic art cars using AI? This event will challenge your AI generation skills and your ability to ​tell real from fake. Joining us for the Houston Art Car Parade and then post images to our Facebook Group. See if other group members can tell which cars are real and which are AI-generated.

PLEASE NOTE:

• WE ARE NOT MEETING AS A GROUP FOR THIS EVENT. This is a VERY busy and crowded event, making it impossible to find each other in the crowd. You will be on-your-own for this event.
• Art Car parade starts at 2pm, however if you arrive a couple of hours early, you can find parking and walk among the cars as they are getting lined up.

WHY PHOTOWALK AT THE ART CAR PARADE?
The Houston Art Car Parade is the world's largest gathering of its kind, showcasing over 250 mobile masterpieces crafted by artists, schools, and enthusiasts. This event offers an unparalleled opportunity to capture the fusion of creativity and automotive design.

But are your photos real .... or AI? After you get home, practice your AI image-generation skills by creating "fake" AI-generated cars. Post both the real and the fakes on our facebook page to see if photographers can spot the fakes!

I enjoy walking among the cars and talking to the car owners a couple of hours before the parade starts -- rather than actually photographing the parade itself. This makes it easier to get up close to the cars and their owners.

EVENT DESCRIPTION:
During the parade, expect to photograph a diverse array of art cars, each with its unique flair and story. The afternoon light will enhance the vivid colors and intricate details of the vehicles, offering ample opportunities for stunning shots.​

This event is open to photographers of all skill levels and equipment types—from professional cameras to hobbyist gear, even camera phones. It's all about enjoying the experience and honing your photography skills in a lively, artistic setting.​

IMPORTANT INFO:

• AI vs. Reality Challenge: After the event, participants are encouraged to post their photos in our facebook group, challenging others to distinguish between images of actual art cars and AI-generated art car images. Let's test our perception and have some fun!
• Entire Car AI Generation: To make it fair, please generate the entire art car, not just edit parts of art cars.​

PARKING:
Parking is available along Allen Parkway and in nearby areas. Please note that Allen Parkway may have closures due to the parade, so plan to arrive early to secure parking and navigate any detours.
