WHY THIS SCREENING?
This is a powerful look at the work of Corky Lee, who over more than five decades used his camera to chronicle Asian‑American communities across the U.S.
- Corky Lee served as the informal “Chinatown photographer,” documenting protests, celebrations, everyday life and overlooked moments of AANHPI communities.
- The screening takes place at the Asia Society Texas Center in the heart of Houston’s Museum District—a building itself designed by noted architect Yoshio Taniguchi with elegant stone, wood and glass elements. - After the film we’ll have a chat with director Jennifer Takaki and producer Raj R. Vaswani, offering a chance to dive deeper into visual storytelling, identity and justice.
