It's that time of year! See a huge field of sunflowers! We will drive to Snook, Texas to visit 2 different sunflower fields. They are planted by the Wilder family who have planted these fields for several years now.
Note: Don't let the threat of rain deter you. We drove through storms last year and were rewarded with beautiful cloud formations and colors (not to mention the chance to shoot lightning strikes!) Of course, I can not guarantee that. We get what we get.

Snook, Texas is a 1.5-2 hr drive from Houston.

We will meet at 5:30 pm at for dinner.
Sargento's Mexican Restaurant,
9440 Slovacek Rd, Snook, TX 77878

If not eating with us, meet here at 7:00 pm. You can follow me to the fields from here.

Please bring boots in case it's muddy out there.

One of the fields is just East of the gas station on FM 60 ( on the North side of the road. But we will shoot this field last as it is best for sundown shots. The shoulder of FM 60 is wide enough that we can park on the shoulder.

While there is no charge to see them, we are asked not to damage the flowers or fields. Do not cut or pick flowers.

I do have room for 3 other people in my car (4 if y'all want to squeeze) if anyone wants to carpool from Houston, in which case we can share the price of gas (around $5 pp). Please contact me via Facebook Messenger. First come, first ride.

Things to bring:

  1. Camera, flash, batteries, memory cards
  2. Lenses: 24-105 mm and or 100-400 mm for birds in the fields and bees on the flowers
  3. Tripod for low light shots
  4. Water boots
  5. Ladder if you want a higher perspective. (Or if you have a truck, would you be willing to share your truck bed?)
  6. Lots of water!! It will be extremely hot out there.

Hope to see y'all there!
