Robust Python: Building a Vocabulary with User-Defined Types (In-Person!)
Details
In-person talks are back!
This month, we are happy to announce that ADTRAN is sponsoring event space and pizza for this talk. Our speaker will be Pat Viafore, author of Robust Python and organizer of HSV.py, here to present one of the parts of his book.
In this talk, you'll learn why writing robust Python is important, how to think about domain-driven concepts, and building a vocabulary of types in your database. Pat will cover the difference between dataclasses and classes, how to use enumerations correctly, how to apply subtyping, API design, protocols, and modeled types. Attendees should have a moderate grasp of Python, as this is not a beginner-level talk.
As always, we're always looking for more in-person talks, so please let us know if you would be interested in giving a talk. All experience levels welcome.
