I'm assuming you're here for the same reason I am - to attend some fun events, attempt to make some friends, and find a ~purpose~ in this life. So let's get on with it.

National Community Organizer Day Virtual Party Meetup!
·OnlineOnlineHard To Make Friends As An Adult is hosting a Meetup for the Meetup organizers! It takes a village - but what about the people BUILDING the village?! Where is our shout out? Where is our town hall meeting building in said village where we can vent, support, party?! We see you, we are you, we commend you - this organizing life is not for the weak!
As a host of multiples communities for [almost] ten years now, I've seen the good, the bad, the ugly side of hosting. It's amazing to see our event ideas come to life. It's rewarding to make friends and know we're making a difference in our communities. It's fun, it's exciting! We're out here being the social people and making connections happen. It's also life-draining, soul sucking, and a money pit. Sometimes we're the bad guys and the rule enforcers. Sometimes we're the dictators. We're the "Mean Girls." Like God forbid a group organizer has some confidence?! Few know what we go through and the effort we put in!
But mostly - we are the village keepers. We're creating third spaces. We're opening up ourselves and our calendars to help our local communities thrive. We deserve some recognition and some support - So let me give it to ya! We're declaring April 14th as National Community Organizer Day!

Celebrate the month of May in a very fancy French way as we bar hop dressed head-to-toe Rococo! Think tall bougie wigs, suits with long jackets, knee high white socks, corsets, any attire someone in Paris during the 1700s would have gasped over. Join us for bar hopping, toasting, and meeting new friends!
You don't "have" to dress up but know that I'll think much less of you and you'll be ruining the vibes and everyone will be thinking how much of bore you are (just saying!!!!!)

Eat & Drink Around the World.... Cup! World Cup Kick Off & Food Tour!
Shay McElroy's Irish Pub, 909 Texas Street, Houston, TX, USHouston is hosting the World Cup, so we’re celebrating BIG TIME! We’re kicking off the World Cup 2026 festivities the only way Houstonians know how - by drinking and eating our way around the world. Join us for global bites, international sips, and new friends as we bar hop downtown. This is the perfect event for Houstonians or tourists to explore our diverse food scene!
Our Tour Route:
1. Shay McElroy's Irish Pub: Luck of the Irish! Enjoy beer & festivities at our first spot.
2. Mamajuana Cafe: Latin cuisine galore!
3. Bravery Food Hall: Check off multiple cuisines from around the world with many options for food/drinks
4. Roma's Pizza: Grab a slice mi bella!
5. La Carafe: Our final stop features french wine & a moody ambiance at Houston's oldest bar to "wine" down!All spots offer multiple food/drink options including alcoholic & non! Attendees are responsible for their own food/drink costs at each stop. Event is 21+ - Please drink responsibly. We do NOT recommend drinking alcohol at each stop. Stay hydrated as we walk from spot to spot in downtown Houston! We will plan for roughly 30-45 minutes per spot.
What To Wear/bring:
Represent your home, favorite team, or heritage! Guests are encouraged to dress up like their favorite city or wear their favorite jersey. Please wear comfortable shoes as we will be walking from spot to spot. We recommend bringing sunscreen, sunglasses, water, and bug spray.Accessibility:
Please note, our tour consists of multiple spots around Downtown Houston. As a group, we will be walking to & from each location. We estimate the walk will be roughly 1-2 miles in total. Please keep this in mind for planning purposes.How To Find Us:
