Relaunch Party! Dogs, Games, Shenanigans

A few days ago, my husband and I walked into a random burger joint in Roswell, New Mexico. They had just opened and we were the only customers. Within minutes we were chatting with the staff. At one point the owner pulled out this crazy hilarious game called Chicken Vs Hotdog. We were immediately making fools of ourselves and laughing as a group.

I connected more with those people in an hour than I have at any recent Meetup event.

A couple weeks before that, I carpooled six hours with a friend-of-a-friend to a birthday party. Same exact thing. We were sharing stories of our lives, laughing, just vibing. Dropped her back off with a solid foundation for a future friendship. Something that usually takes 6 months in the Meetup world was accomplished in one day.

These apps, these AI quiz dinner with strangers, everything being an "event" gets socializing and community all wrong. I've failed as a host a lot too but I hope to always be an authentic voice. Maybe we can get community right.

I will be bringing this Chicken Vs Hot Dog game - and others! There will be a lot of random activities spread on the table to help keep the awkward silences to a minimum. You can meet and pet my dogs Fettuccine & Alfredo. I will pressure you to order the best caesar salad I've had in my life. You can bring your dogs. You can bring games. You can bring a friend, date, whoever.
