Film Club: The Boundaries of Belief

Details

PFA Film Club hosts free screenings of thought-provoking films, followed by a discussion about the raised philosophical issues, for general public. In 2025 meetings are held every third WEDNESDAY of the month at the Cafe of St. Hilda's East Community Centre, 18 Club Row, London E2 7EY. The nearest station is Shoreditch High Street on the Overground. The screening starts at 18:30 pm and we need to vacate the building by 9:00pm. We offer complimentary light refreshments during the event.

This month: A visually stunning tale set in the vast expanse of the ocean, the story follows a young boy who survives a shipwreck, finding himself stranded on a lifeboat with a Bengal tiger. As the two navigate the endless sea together, the narrative unfolds to explore themes of survival, faith, and the power of storytelling. The film weaves between the boy’s internal struggle and the awe-inspiring natural world around him, creating a deeply spiritual and emotional journey. With a mix of adventure, magical realism, and philosophical undertones, the story invites viewers to question the nature of reality and the beliefs that shape human existence. Can you guess the film? Or come to the event and find out on the day!
