What we're about

SAGE Central North Carolina is a program established to advocate for and reach out to senior members of the Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Transgender Community, age 50 and older. Younger members and allies of the the LGBTQ community who are interested in interacting with our older population are welcome to join with us in our activities. Our mission is to assist our friends with issues dealing with health care, legal problems, housing and inter-generational relationships, as well as provide expanded options for social interaction and reduce social isolation. We are affiliated with SAGE of New York City, which has been dedicated to serving the senior members of the LGBT community for 40 years.

SAGE Walk 'n Talk Wednesdays & Sundays

2139 Old Reedy Creek Rd

This month we will be exploring a new location for our trek. We'll be going to Lake Crabtree County Park, 2139 Reedy Creek Road. We will meet in the parking lot of the Old Reedy Creek Road trailhead. Click on the map below to see more a more detailed view.

Bring bottled water to keep hydrated, and well behaved dogs on leashes are welcome. Some folks go for coffee at a nearby coffee house when we are finished, but that is not an officially sanctioned SAGE activity during the pandemic.

Walking as a group is lots of fun, a great way to get exercise and also a great way to connect with old friends and make new ones. Please encourage your friends to join us. Face masks are now optional; however, if you are not vaccinated we would prefer you wear a mask.

If you have any questions, or are planning on joining us and you are lost or running a few minutes late, please text Todd at[masked] and we will wait for you.

Free Virtual Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction Course - SORRY, EVENT CLOSED!

Once you have responded to this announcement that you will be attending, a link to the Zoom conference will appear on the lower right hand side of your screen. All you need to do is click on that link and you will be admitted to the meeting.

Online event

Safe at home... and still connected! We can’t get together In Real Life.… but we *can* meet by Zoom videoconference every Monday.
After you sign up here on Meetup, you'll see a blue link for "Online Event" (it is the same every week.) On Monday morning, grab your tea or coffee and click on that link here to get to the Zoom meeting. Sit back, enjoy seeing familiar faces we've been missing, and catch up online.
If you don't want to be seen on screen you have the option to just speak (audio only), without your video turned on.
If you cannot connect to this Zoom meeting by clicking the link on this Meetup page, use Meeting ID[masked] and Passcode[masked]
