Foothills Nature Preserve, Los Altos Hills
Details
Fall color at this location is very good at this time of year. The lake and its reflections provide a beautiful focal point. The lake has two small docks, an attractive humpback bridge, many attractive trees, shrubs, grassy areas and cattails along the shoreline. Sometimes people canoe on the lake and others occasionally fish from the docks. It is a quiet and pretty area with many mature trees to provide shade while painting. There is a $6 fee to enter the preserve.
Parking (free)
Parking is adjacent to the lake and is where most of us park. Also parking near the ranger station at the entrance and beyond the lake and down a hill is another very large parking lot.
Restrooms - 2 options
To the left of the Ranger Station as you enter the park (about 1/4 mile from the lake) and at the very large parking lot beyond the lake.
Lunch @ 12:30
Meet at the lake for lunch and to share our work.
