### Classic Buddhist Stories: The Hare on the Moon

Wednesday, October 7, 2026
7:00–8:00 PM (PT) • Zoom
Facilitated by Pascale Dellefield
Join us for the second gathering in our Classic Buddhist Stories series as we explore The Hare on the Moon, a beloved Jātaka tale of generosity, selflessness, and compassionate intention.
In this story, a hare is tested alongside other animals and discovers that, having little material to offer, he is willing to give of himself completely. His response becomes a powerful symbol of generosity and the bodhisattva spirit.
Through meditation, storytelling, and group discussion, we’ll explore:

  • Generosity and selflessness
  • Compassionate intention
  • Sacrifice and wisdom
  • The bodhisattva path
  • Giving without attachment
  • What it means to offer ourselves skillfully

We’ll also reflect on an important question: Does true generosity always require self-sacrifice, or can wisdom help us understand when and how to give?
No previous knowledge of Buddhism or the Jātaka tales is necessary.
Everyone is warmly welcome.
