Longer, steeper Ventura Hills Geo-hike. A real workout!

Geo-hikers,
We've strung together several trails and dirt roads to make a good workout in the hills above Ventura. It's 9.8 miles plus 1660 ft elevation gain (stats from Kelly's watch). This also means you can bail out at any time and return to your car if the hike is too long or steep.

If you want to do, then be prepared for a good workout. We'll try to keep the pace about 2.0 MPH, so plan on 4 hrs for the hike. Bring lots of water. I'll say a few things about the geology along the way. There's no sweep.

If you haven't been hiking much, I recommend you do Monday's (7/7) Ventura Hillside Geo-hike, it's only 5 miles.
