The Empowerment of 1,000 Armed Avalokitseshvara
Details
About this special event
All of us have within us the potential for universal love and great compassion and through receiving the blessings of 1000-armed Avalokiteshvara, (the embodiment of the compassion of all enlightened beings) we can ripen our limitless potential.
We all possess the potential for limitless compassion and purity but how can we realise this potential? On this day we will learn how to live a pure life so that we can ripen our limitless potential.
In the empowerment we will receive the powerful blessings from the Buddha of Compassion Avalokiteshvara. His thousand arms show how his compassion protects all living beings without exception. Through receiving his blessings and protection, our own compassion will grow and our capacity to help others in the most meaningful way will naturally develop. Eventually our compassion seed will produce its effect, full enlightenment, and we will be able to benefit each and every living being every day just like him. How wonderful!
What Is An Empowerment?
An empowerment is a teaching and series of guided meditations through which we make a connection with Buddha. It bestows upon us special blessings that heal our mental continuum and awaken our Buddha nature. Everyone is welcome to attend. You do not need to be a Buddhist to gain great benefit from this blessing empowerment.

Who is 1,000 Armed Avaloketishvara?
The Compassion Buddha, the embodiment of the universal compassion of all enlightened beings. By relying upon Avalokiteshvara we naturally increase our own compassion. In this aspect Avalokiteshvara has eleven faces – the ten faces of his emanations of the ten directions and the face of his root Guru Buddha Amitabha – indicating that he benefits living beings through his countless emanations. His thousand arms indicate that he is the synthesis of the thousand Buddhas of this Fortunate Aeon, and the eye in the palm of each hand indicate that he watches over and cares for infinite living beings.
