Join us for a fun-filled weekend at Fahnestock State Park where we will offer workshops on skills to include:
* What to bring on a day hike
* How to identify trees, plants, and animals
* How to make tasty on-the-trail meals
* How to read a map
* How to reduce your impact
* And more!
This is a rustic group campsite next to the Appalachian Trail with portable toilets and water nearby for drinking purposes. The bathhouses at the campground or beach may be used but are several miles away.
The program is open to children of all ages but must be accompanied by a parent or guardian at all times.
The Mid-Hudson ADK is covering the cost of the group campsite and volunteer leaders. Participants will need to provide their own food and camping equipment. We can help you with finding gear.
The program includes 2-1/2 hours of free time Saturday afternoon. If you wish to use the beach, there is a $9.00 day use fee for parking or you can use an Empire Pass.
No alcohol or pets per club rules. Contact the leader for more information or to register.
