Human Hearted Canberra

This is a get-together for Human Hearted Canberrans to discuss what kind of events they'd like to have for the next quarter. Should we be more active, and take on a project or organise a rally? Or should we organise outdoor, cultural or sporting events? Come along and have your say!

This event will be online only and will wrap up promptly after an hour.

Humanism is more than just a 'lack of religious belief', it's a positive life stance. Human heartedness is a humanistic approach to living a better life through building a more cohesive, compassionate, values driven society.

Topic is to be determined. Let me know if you have a suggestion.

Arrive at 6:30 for social chat and to order food. The discussion will start at 6:45. Contact Mary-Anne via Meetup if you have any last minute problems.

This discussion group covers a broad and varied range of topics, but there's a focus on the values aspects. One person offers a 5-10 minute introduction and then everyone has a chance (if they want to) to briefly give their first thoughts on the topic. From there there's free discussion and the group can take the topic in the direction they choose.

Afterwards some of us usually stay in town to have lunch - most often at the food court in the Canberra Centre near David Jones, as that offers a good variety of choices.

Let's celebrate Humanist Australia's birthday and International Human Rights Day (December 10), with a picnic and activities by the lake.

We'll meet at Regatta Point between 10:45 and 11. At 11, some of us will hire scooters and take off on a scoot around the Kings Bridge/Commonwealth Bridge loop, while others will head off for a walk around Commonwealth Park.

We'll meet back at Regatta Point around 12pm and find a spot to eat lunch.

BYO picnic food and blanket.
