What we’re about
The Humanist Society (Singapore) was formed in 2010 as a group of humanists, atheists, agnostics, skeptics and other like-minded people in Singapore. Our society seeks to represent non-religious people in Singapore who pursue ethical and fulfilling lives. We are guided by reason, informed by evidence and driven by compassion.
Our events raise awareness of science, humanism and ethical living. Our gatherings serve as a treasured space for rational discussions and for finding friendship with like-minded people. We hold workshops on humanism, ethics and science, and social events such as barbecues and festive celebrations. Community service includes hot meals for the elderly and holding blood donation drives.

### Topic/speaker of the month: Burnout - Coping as an Humanist
In today’s fast-paced world, burnout is a prevalent problem acknowledged by World Health Organisation, and Singapore's burnout rate is among the highest globally.
For the growing “Nones” (non-religious individuals) communities, the lack of institutionalised doctrines and support can make coping challenging.
At this Secular Assembly, counsellor and coach, Kit Koh will unpack the science of burnout, explore how it manifests in our daily lives, and share strategies for prevention and coping. We’ll also reflect on how secular communities can build resilience to prevent and cope with burnout.#### Assembly brief
During the Secular Assembly, there will be: short sing alongs, a short talk, sharing of personal stories, moments for reflection and gratitude, and more. Light refreshments (packet drinks) will be provided. Assembly will start on time, please arrive 10-15mins early.
**Collaboration with Harmony in Diversity Gallery (HDG)**
The Harmony in Diversity Gallery (HDG) was developed by the Ministry of Home Affairs in collaboration with community partners and organisations like the Inter-Religious Organisation (IRO). The Gallery aims to promote an appreciation of Singapore’s rich religious diversity. It hopes this will foster a spirit of give and take, mutual respect and understanding, necessary to nurture and strengthen the religious peace and harmony we enjoy today.
