Hike Little Bookcliffs Wild Horse Area

Drive east on I-70 to Cameo exit #46. Meet in front of the red Kokopelli Fruit Market at the bottom of the exit ramp. Bob and Donna are leading this hike and will meet you there. Follow their blue Honda for two miles on a dirt road to the trailhead for Coal Canyon.

The horses generally move into the Main canyon for easier access to water at this time of year. The hike will be ~4 miles round trip. There is one steep stretch so bring a walking stick if you use one. We will cross the shallow creek 3-4 times. This two hour hike is usually described as easy to moderate.
