Hike No Thoroughfare Canyon in Colorado National Monument

We will hike up and back No Thoroughfare Canyon in the Colorado National Monument, with a view of the waterfall. Some people may want to turn around at the first pool (3 miles round trip) and others will probably want to go to the second waterfall (5 miles roundtrip). Second one has a steep section with stairs - read gjhikes for details. Both have a few rocks underfoot. Some people might want poles.

Be sure to bring water, snacks, hat, sunscreen and your camera and binoculars. Some wildflowers may still be blooming!

Entry to the Monument requires a pass or fee. Those of you wishing to carpool might want to meet at the Safeway store parking lot on Broadway. If you do want to carpool, please use comments here to arrange with others.

We will meet at the trailhead just up from the East Entry to the Monument. Additional parking is across the road at the Devil's Kitchen Picnic Area.

Remember, no dogs are permitted in the monument.
