Hike Mesa Top Trail on Grand Mesa

Details

We will hike out and back on the Mesa Top Trail on Grand Mesa. This hike features wildflowers and great views and is about 6 miles round trip. A description can be found here: https://www.gjhikes.com/2011/08/mesa-top.html. We will go to the south overlook, but if some people want a shorter hike, a group of us can turn around earlier. Much of the hike is in meadows, and GJHikes rates the trail as "moderate" and notes that "A large portion of the Mesa Top trail crosses rocky stretches of basalt of varying sizes." Check GJHikes to see if it looks like a good hike for you! Please remember pets are not appropriate for the group hike.

Remember to bring insect repellent, rain gear, camera, snacks and water.

We will meet at 9:00 am at the Mesa Top trailhead just off highway 65 and just past the turnoff for Lands End Road. There is a restroom at the trailhead.
