This 1-hour interactive session focuses on the impact of sound, touch, and consent, and demonstrates how to hold space with greater intention, respect, and presence. Certified Bereavement facilitator, Cynthia Zaitz, PhD, introduces the research-informed core principles of LovingDeathDesign:
• Understanding how the brain reacts to sound and stimulus at end-of-life.
• Awareness of the prevalence of touch aversion due to PTSD, Autism, Sexual Assault, etc.
• How to identify signs of distress in the unconscious and tools to avoid retraumatization.
• Designing hospice care that honors culture, family, and individuality.
