Humboldt Social Meetup! (30s, 40s and 50s )

Join us Thursday June 11th at 5pm in Eureka for a short hike in the McKay Community Forest, then across the street to Humboldt Cider Co for a cider social hour! Come for the hike, for cider, or both!

We will be doing our 2.2 mile hike in about 45 minutes. Please keep this pace in mind when signing up! Our route is moderate, 104 ft elevation gain, with a few short climbs. We're planning on being across the street at Humboldt Cider by 6. If the weather is nice or if it's packed we could be outside at the Cider Co; layers are always a good idea!

If you're running late you can either catch up or meet us at The Cider. Co. at 6. I'll post our route in the event photos.

If its rained recently there could be mud on the trail so bring your party shoes!

We'll meet at the McKay Community Forest trailhead sign on Harris St. I've put a photo of that in the event photos. We'll do our loop in the woods, end up back at the trailhead, then walk across the street to the Cider Co. less than a block away. You can park on Harris St. or across the street on Hubbard Ln, where the Cider Co. is. There is also a parking lot at the Cider Co.

Join us for a six mile, two hour out and back hike on the road in the McKay Forest. This will be a chill hike down a paved/gravel/dirt packed road that is fairly flat- 176 ft of elevation gain. If it's rained recently there might be a few muddy bits and we'll have full sun exposure. This trail is super beautiful- redwoods, meadows, fun old bridges and a stream. There is one spot where we'll step off the trail around a post and climb up onto a bridge. It's a big step up and down. I've posted a photo in this event. Leashed, well-behaved dogs welcomed with extra hugs.

Afterwards we'll have the option to walk across the street to Humboldt Cider Co for cider and a food truck. You can also bring your own food.
