Here's the deal. The Redwood Acres fair BOAT RACES ARE BACK!
The Down & Dirty Hillbilly Boat Race – where the race cars drag speed boats behind them and attempt to dislodge the boats of their competitors.
Awesome! BUT we don't have an exact time. Car racing starts at 6 and goes into the night. On the docket for Saturday night are Legends, then Bombers, THEN Boat Races. Last year the boat races began at 7:45, but it varies year to year.
A $10.00 fair admission gets you into the fair (no rides) and into the race. I'll be there around 6:30, will post our group's location in the grandstands, and will post again when they're getting closer to the boat races. Feel free to stop by and put something down in your bleacher spot.
If you wanna see the races, buy a fair ticket, (I'm hoping they'll have a skip the line preorder ticket up soon) wander around the fair, and pet some animals until it gets close to race time. I'll be updating the comments as it gets closer to the boat event. OR come sit in the stands with us, guarantee your seat, watch Legends and Bombers car racing, drink beer and wait for the boat derby. The grandstand has wooden bleacher style seating. Prepare your butts.

This is totally the meetup for you if you don't mind checking the event chat night-of for meetup details, love unique Humboldt events, and think drinking beer and cheering for boat smashing is an awesome way to spend a Saturday night.
This event is IN THE FAIR, AT REDWOOD ACRES RACEWAY, INSIDE THE GRANDSTAND. I'll be available to meet people down in the lobby and show you where we're sitting.
Parking will be across the street from Redwood Acres, not in the fairgrounds itself.
