What we’re about

This is a group designed for people (men, women and all genders in between) who are hungry and not so hangry. Making friends in Sydney is a work in progress due to everyone's busy schedule.

However with an open mind, let's make the effort to share common interests. Food and laughing laughing is the best way to soften the challenges we call life..

The Organizer:
Your host Julie J. is a stand up comedian because she believes that making others laugh is her way of saying, I know how it feels to be human, I'm one too so let's have a laugh..

Social etiquette:
Be yourself because everyone else is already taken. Look presentable, have good hygiene and remember to wear a smile.. if you’re nervous meeting new people - it’s a good sign because you are a person having a human experience ✌🏽

The Cost to be a Hungry Caterpillar:

*Gratuity $5 - This fee is paid only once & valid for 6 months and renew after that. It's Cash during your first event

Shared Food cost typically between $20 up to over $100 in some cases if it’s fine dining so please be flexible and generous, there is no split bill unless it’s a’la carte

Comedy events do not cover this gratuity fees, you have to buy your own ticket to a comedy show, event or movie if I have included the link or asked for upfront payment via PayPal or Pay ID

Housekeeping:

  • We are progressive people, we love ourselves enough to be accepting of others. Less Karen/Josh, more happy people
  • Mobile phones are to be put away or answered privately when in social gathering
  • Negative Gossip rumour and unpleasant storytelling about others will result in being banned from the group
  • If unsure of something just read the event description several times and after a while when you are an active member, you will get the hang of it
  • During an event, me the host is usually hosting the people who have attended on time so please read for updates and manage your way to us
  • Since Phones are to be put away, I’m therefore not always able to answer phone calls or texts during event either
  • We allow a grace period of up to 15 minutes for arrival or you catch up with the group. Just come in a good condition and be safe..
  • Please be well prepared and self guide to event updates. Yes I have repeated myself so it helps people process and digest the information
  • The bills are split equally when we are out for din din or at restaurants sharing meals
  • Leftovers will be given to the homeless people if no one wants to take it home
  • You may eat less or more, doesn't matter we share the food because it is a communal event
  • If you have dietary requirements please be easy going on us and possibly order separately but we will aim to accommodate
  • This is a very friendly, kind and courteous group. Just be your best self because everyone else is already taken 😃
  • We understand that Meeting new people is sometimes nerve racking but once you breakthrough the initial fear and uncertainty, you will see that we don't bite that hard!

By the way, if you see someone crying just ask them if it's because of their haircut 😆
