About us

Hustle in Atlanta (HIA) is a vibrant, grassroots dance community dedicated to preserving and growing the legacy of The Latin Hustle—a dynamic partner dance born in the early 1970s among Latino youth in the Bronx, New York City. Known worldwide simply as “The Hustle,” this high-energy style is deeply rooted in the disco era, moving to the rhythms of iconic tracks like Van McCoy’s The Hustle and Barry White’s Love’s Theme. For over a decade, HIA has been a driving force in cultivating a passionate Hustle scene throughout the greater Atlanta area. Supported by Tony Felix and a committed team of volunteers, the community continues to expand through engaging social media outreach, inclusive events, and high-quality dance education. HIA hosts regular social dance experiences, including the popular Boogie Nights at Brimstone Tavern in Alpharetta and the monthly Friday Night Fever in Marietta, creating welcoming spaces for dancers of all levels. In addition, the organization offers instructional classes and workshops led by both local talent and renowned guest instructors, providing opportunities for growth, connection, and cultural appreciation. Whether you're a seasoned dancer or stepping onto the floor for the first time, Hustle in Atlanta invites you to experience the energy, history, and community of Latin Hustle.
