Bull Hill - Breakneck Ridge - Cornish Estate ruins - 8.5 mi/2,400'EG - NYC train

The hike: Moderate 2.2-2.3mph average pace. Several brief stops at great viewpoints. We start hiking at 8:45am from the Washburn Trailhead parking lot at the base of Bull Hill. We'll have great views of the Hudson, West Point, Cold Spring, Storm King, etc., and we'll check out the ruins of the Cornish Estate mansion.

The route:
- White trail up and over Bull Hill and then down into valley.
- Turn left onto blue and continue to the yellow Undercliff Trail.
- Take yellow to the top of the ridge.
- Turn left onto white and go 150 yards to the viewpoint.
- Double back on white and continue about 1 mile to the blue trail.
- Turn right onto blue and take it all the way to the parking lot - passing the Cornish Estate Ruins along the way.

Distance: ~8.5 miles
Elevation gain: ~ 2,400'
Difficulty: rocky terrain; short rock scramble
Gear: Appropriate footwear; moisture-wicking clothing; water; poles may be helpful; lunch/snacks
