*** Gate opens at 9AM and lines form early. Please get on line between 8:30 and 8:40. The line moves slow. We will start onto trail at 9:15 from the Lower Awosting parking lot. (The parking lot is 700' straight ahead from the paystation).
*** Your footwear will get wet on this hike. Bring extra footwear for after.

The Hike - Pace will be moderate-to-brisk. We will hike nice trails for the first 6.5 miles. Then we will hike along the Peter's Kill stream with its multiple waterfalls and cooling waters. . All hikers should familiarize themselves with the route and know bail-out points if choosing to hike at a more leisurely pace.

The route:
- From the far end of parking lot, go around the gate and onto the Lower Awosting carriage road.
- Go 150' and turn left onto the yellow Mossy Glen Trail.
- Continue on yellow about 1.5 miles to Blueberry Run Trail (BRT)
- Turn right onto Blueberry Run. Cross the bridge and carriage road.
- Continue on BRT to the blue SRT (Shawangunk Ridge Trail).
- Turn right and stay on SRT for 4.2 miles and cross Peter's Kill footbridge.
- Turn right onto yellow and follow the Peter's Kill to the red trail.
- Continue on red along the stream.
- We will take a nice lunch break along the Peter's Kill before continuing. - We will eventually cross Rt. 44/55 and take the Awosting Falls Carriage Road past Awosting Falls and back to the parking lot.

Distance: approx. 8.5 miles
Elevation gain: Approx. 900 feet
Difficulty: moderate/brisk pace; short uphills. Slippery rocks along stream.
Gear: Appropriate footwear; snowshoes; clothing layers for winter temperatures; poles may be helpful for some people; water; snacks
