FIRST TALK:

Our first talk will be lead by Betta Broad from New Yorkers for Clean Power(https://nyforcleanpower.org/).

This organization is a statewide collaborative campaign that works through education, advocacy and organizing to move us towards a clean energy economy.

Based right here in Kingston, Betta will join us to talk about the many green initiatives New Yorkers for Clean Power have been implementing and how they impact our community.

SECOND TALK:

Our second talk will feature a couple of speakers in support of Transition Kingston.

The Transition Towns movement (https://transitionnetwork.org) is an international movement to transition communities away from dependance on fossil fuels and consumption models that rely on input from outside forces and towards the creation of resilient, self-sufficient models that facilitate community collaboration, caring, and co-creation.

There are a number of initiatives happening around our city that are working within the unique ecosystem of our community to promote this model of sustainability. We will be joined by Micah who will talk about The Greenhouse(https://goodworkinstitute.org/greenhouse/), and John Wackman for Repair Cafe(http://www.repaircafehv.org/kingston).
______________
THIRD TALK:

We welcome Casey Conlin to the stage in our final talk about the "Library of Things."

Casey has been working in libraries in the Hudson Valley to develop programming and services that meet community needs. Currently, he works as Library Sustainability Coordinator for the Mid-Hudson Library System helping its 66 member libraries build their capacity to continue helping their communities thrive.

While the content and delivery of the services may change, the public library's role to connect people with the resources they need to better their lives has not. Learning, experiences, tools, tech, and community are all part of your public library in 2019.
